Ceramic Tiles: The Perfect Match for Underfloor Heating
22.05.2025

When renovating a home in the Netherlands, choosing the right flooring is crucial. While wood brings warmth, ceramic tiles and porcelain stoneware offer unmatched performance, especially when combined with underfloor heating.
Why choose tiles for your living space?
1. Thermal Conductivity: Tiles conduct heat perfectly. Your home heats up faster and retains warmth longer compared to wood or laminate.
2. Durability: Porcelain stoneware is incredibly wear-resistant. It withstands heavy traffic, pets, and dropped objects effortlessly.
3. Maintenance: A quick mop is all it takes. No sanding, no oiling, no stress.
Myth Busted: “Tiles feel cold.”
This is only true without heating. With a modern pump-based floor heating system, tiles are the most comfortable surface to walk on in winter.
We install large-format tiles (e.g., 90x90cm or 120x60cm) to create a seamless, spacious look in your living room or hallway. Ask us about the latest designs that mimic natural stone or concrete.
High-End PVC Flooring: Safe, Silent & Stylish
31.05.2025

PVC (Click-PVC or Glue-down) has become the #1 choice for renovations in apartments. Why? Because it combines the look of real wood with the durability of plastic. But is it safe?
Safety First
Modern PVC produced for the EU market is strictly regulated. We work with certified suppliers (e.g., Belakos, Moduleo) whose products are guaranteed free from harmful phthalates and are safe even for nurseries and schools. Look for the “EPLF” quality mark.
The “Silence” Factor
If you live in an apartment (VvE rules often require sound reduction), PVC is ideal. It absorbs sound, making it much quieter than laminate.
Key Benefits:
- 100% Water Resistant: Can be installed in kitchens and even bathrooms.
- Warmth: Feels warm to the touch, unlike laminate which can feel cool.
- Thin Profile: Ideal for renovations where floor height is limited.
Note: For a perfect result, the subfloor must be leveled (egaliseren) to perfection. This is a standard part of our service.
Laminate vs. PVC: Choosing the Right Floor for Your Lifestyle
10.04.2025

Both materials are excellent choices, but they serve different needs. Here is our professional breakdown to help you decide.
Laminate (The Classic Choice)
Based on HDF wood fibers. It gives a solid “wooden floor” sound and feel.
Pros: Cost-effective, highly scratch-resistant (Class 32/33), easy to replace.
Cons: Sensitive to moisture. Not suitable for bathrooms. Has a “clicking” sound when walking (requires good underlay).
PVC (The Modern Choice)
Synthetic material that is flexible and durable.
Pros: Silent, waterproof, feels warmer, best efficiency with floor heating.
Cons: Generally more expensive than laminate. Requires a perfectly smooth subfloor.
Our Advice:
If you have underfloor heating and want maximum comfort/silence – choose PVC.
If you want a cost-effective solution for a rental property or a study room – choose high-quality Laminate.
Interior Design Trends 2025: Warmth & Nature
31.01.2025

Gone are the days of sterile, all-white/grey interiors. The trends for 2025 focus on “Warm Minimalism” and a connection to nature. Here is what our clients in Amsterdam are asking for:
1. Warm Neutrals (“Japandi” style)
Replace cool greys with Beige, Sandy tones, and Greige (Grey+Beige). These colors create a calm, sanctuary-like atmosphere.
2. Earthy & Spice Tones
Terracotta, Caramel, and soft Mustard. These work beautifully as accent walls or in furniture, adding depth to the room.
3. Natural Greens
From soft Sage Green for bedrooms to deep Emerald for a statement wall in the living room. Green pairs perfectly with oak flooring and brass fixtures.
Designer Tip (60-30-10 Rule):
To achieve balance, use 60% dominant color (walls/neutral), 30% secondary color (furniture/textiles), and 10% accent color (decor/lamps). We can help you create a color palette that matches your home’s lighting.
